Making its World Premiere at SXSW 2022, The Cellar has already been acquired by Shudder. Coming in at just under 90 minutes, supernatural abductions are kind of my jam, and the Cellar is an early(ish) evening entry to my Saturday night SXSW Midnighters Film Track viewing.

About a week after the Woods family move in to Xaos House, their daughter Ellie goes missing during a power cut. Ellie's mother Keira investigates and finds that the walls have strange symbols engraved into them. After a number of terrifying supernatural experiences, she comes to the conclusion that the house has taken Ellie. She discovers that a physicist and occultist named John Fetherston, who was obsessed with finding the 11th dimension, built the house and engraved sinister equations on the ten steps leading into the cellar. Finally, Keira must battle with the universe’s most ancient evil, or lose her family’s souls forever.

MontiLee Stormer is a writer of horror, dark and urban fantasy. She’s also is a troublemaker, concocting acts of mayhem and despair for her own selfish pleasure. An avid movie watcher, she prefers horror but will see just about anything if you're buying. Poltergeist (1982) is her favorite movie and she actively hates The Shining (1980) due to its racism, misogyny, the butchering of the source material. She could host a TEDtalk on this single subject. Writing about herself in the third person is just a bonus.
